We will start our journey early in the morning towards the mighty Rohtang Pass from the beautiful foot hills of Manali. As we move away and away from the crowd and hustle bustle of the manali town we see the sound of cars fading away and the sight of hotels and building changing into narrow roads with lots and lots of curves with trees on both side of the road.
When we reach top of mighty Rohtang Pass you will be welcomed by the never sight of Himalayas. We will take a break there for taking pictures and then we will continue our journey eventually entering Spiti Valley via Chattru Chotta Dada and then Batal . Our stay for the day 1 will be at Batal . We will pitch our tent there. At batal you will be greeted by the great Chandra river. Batal is the place where the famous Chacha Chachi Dhaba is Located.
After having our breakfast we continue our journey of spiti valley. Now we will head first towards the Chandertal lake . Sitting beside the lake is like a feast for the eyes . You can take whole walk around of lake and it will take around 1-2 hours. After witnessing the stunning visuals of Chandertal lake , we will continue our journey towards Kaza town. On the way we will visit Kunzum Pass where after taking blessing from Kunzum Mata we will continue our journey.
Our stay for day 2 will be at Kaza , the largest township and commercial center of spiti valley.
Today we will visit the historic and world famous Tabo Monastery , Tabo is noted for being the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas. A monk guides us through the monastery as we overlook the endless plains, seeking peace and calm. After this we will visit the Dhankar Monastery . Dhankar was the traditional capital of the Spiti Valley Kingdom during the 17th century and has some features dating back to the 12th century. It was the seat of the early rulers of Spiti, the Nonos. After this we will return to Kaza.
Today we will begin our day by first visiting the Key Monastery situated at a altitude of 4,166 metres.It is the biggest monastery of spiti valley .The key monastery completed its 1000 years in the year 2000 surviving
numerous attacks over the course of past 1000 years. After this we will head towards “Komik” the highest village in Asia at an altitude of 5486 metres above sea level. The beauty of this place cannot be described in words; it can only be felt and experienced with naked eyes.After this we will head towards “Hikkim” the highest post office in the world situated at an altitude of 4724 metres . We might get to meet the post master there and hear his exciting stories. You can send postcards from here to your address which will reach your home before you do. After this we will return back to Kaza .
Today we head towards the beautiful pin valley and Mudh village .From snow-clad mountains to lush green lands, Pin Valley promises an abundance of animals and birds, with some rare plant varieties, and trekking opportunities for the adventure-seekers. We head back to Kaza at Night.
This is where our epic journey comes towards the end. We will checkout from the hotel early in the morning and start our journey way back home again witnessing the stunning landscapes for one last time in this journey . We reach Manali by evening and from there we bid goodbye to an epic and breathtaking experience of the Spiti valley.
